I’m Stella Lee.

For 17 years, yarn has been the language of my life.

Since 2014, I’ve served as the General Manager of a textile exporting firm in Shanghai, traveling across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and the Americas to meet designers worldwide.

 

I’m a designer at heart. 

My clients don’t just buy my yarn for its quality; they buy into the vision behind it.

 

In 2022, I met my true love and settled down in NYC, where Roookies was born. 

I designed the little bird as my logo because it represents me: a free spirit who thrives on traveling between different cultures and lands.

 

My goal is to provide you with stunning yarn, the best color strategies and design advice.

As Carl Jung famously said, “Life really does begin at forty. Up until then, you are just doing research.”

I hope that after our own long period of research, each of us can be truer to our core and officially begin to live.
